    How To Use — 6-Step Bench Workflow

    Follow this sequence. Skipping a step is the top reason a flux job goes wrong.

    STEP 1 — Stir Before Use

    Synthetic activators can settle on the shelf. Stir the jar for 10 seconds before each session.

    STEP 2 — Clean The Pads First

    Wipe the joint area with IPA and lint-free swab. Even no-clean flux cannot fix a contaminated pad.

    STEP 3 — Apply A Small Dab

    A pinhead-sized dot suits one SMD pad or 0603 component. Less is more, too much causes bridging.

    STEP 4 — Set Iron Or Hot Air

    Iron tip 320-360°C for leaded, 360-400°C for lead-free. Hot-air gun 320-380°C for SMD reflow.

    STEP 5 — Reflow The Joint

    Apply heat. Watch the flux bubble briefly then settle. The activator breaks down as solder melts.

    STEP 6 — Optional Final Wipe

    Truly no-clean. For refurb resale a quick IPA wipe lifts any cosmetic film. Not required for function.

    Pro tip: Store the jar tightly sealed at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.

    Common Mistakes And What This Flux Is NOT

    Too much paste

    A pinhead is enough per pad. Excess flux causes solder balling and bridging.

    Iron too cold

    Below 300°C the activators do not fully break down. Bubbling residue stays on the board.

    NOT a substitute for solder paste

    Solder paste contains tin spheres. This is flux only, pair with separate solder wire or paste.

    NOT for solder removal

    Use desoldering wick or a solder pump. Flux assists wicking, not removes solder by itself.

    Less aggressive than RMA leaded

    For 30-year-old heavily oxidised joints, an aggressive leaded RMA paste may wet faster.

    NOT for BGA reballing alone

    Reballing needs solder spheres and a stencil. The flux assists the reflow only.

    It means the flux contains no chloride and no bromide activator chemistry. Traditional rosin fluxes use halide salts to break down oxide. Halogen-free flux uses synthetic activators that break down at solder temperature. No corrosive residue is left behind.
    Do I really not need to clean the board after?+
    For function, no, you do not need to clean. The synthetic activators break down to non-corrosive byproducts. For cosmetics, many techs still wipe with IPA on refurb resale jobs. Cleanup is optional, not mandatory.
    Is it the same as solder paste?+
    No. Solder paste is flux plus tiny solder spheres mixed together. This Qianli product is flux only. Pair it with separate solder wire when you need solder.
    What temperature should my iron or hot air be set to?+
