Reasons to Add the Power Air Cable to Your Repair Bench
Does your repair workflow involve any of the jobs below? The Power Air cable pays for itself in saved minutes per board.
Test logic-board life and Apple-logo boot. No need to unbox a fresh battery for every job.
Isolate the battery circuit from the main board. Pinpoint the failure stage fast.
Verify the board boots after Tristar, U2 IC or PMIC rework. Test before you reassemble.
Power the board after ultrasonic clean. Check current draw and short-circuit behaviour.
Inject controlled voltage. Read current draw on the bench supply ammeter.
Confirm a stack of inbound boards boot. Then allocate fresh batteries to them.
Replaces a drawer of model-specific cables. Covers iPhone 7 through 17 Pro Max.
FPC head worn or copper core fraying? Bench tools wear out.
What the Power Air Cable Brings to Your Bench
FPC Soft Connector Head
The flexible printed-circuit head mimics the iPhone battery FPC ribbon. Soft-flex design puts less stress on the board's battery socket. The flex protects the solder joints during repeat connect and disconnect cycles.
One-to-One Battery Latch Reduction
The connector reproduces the original battery FPC latch and buckle. It clicks into the board socket like an Apple OEM battery FPC does. Holds firm under bench movement without back-out.
1-Metre Pure Copper Wire Core
The conductor is pure copper, NOT copper-clad aluminium. This keeps voltage drop low. Current delivery stays stable from the bench supply to the board. The 1-metre length gives reach across the bench. You do not need to push the supply close to the iPhone chassis.
Wide iPhone Generation Coverage
One cable rated for iPhone 7 through iPhone 17 Pro Max. Handle multi-generation iPhone repair workloads without swapping cables. Confirm your target board's battery FPC pinout before applying power.
Connect and Power Immediately
Plug the FPC head into the iPhone battery socket on the motherboard. Set the bench supply to 3.7 to 4.4 V. Switch on. The board powers up. No extra adapter, no soldering, no wait.
Read Real-Time Current Draw
Pair the cable with any variable DC bench supply that shows current draw. Read the board's idle, boot and short-circuit current. The numbers tell you exactly what stage the fault sits at.
Stress-Resistant Wire Jacket
The soft outer jacket resists tension, twist and pull. The two weak spots are the FPC head and the supply terminals. These are the points where every cheap clone cable fails.
Bench-Standard Tool
Mechanic Power Air sits alongside Qianli Mega-iDea, MaAnt and JC equivalents. All are standard on the global iPhone repair bench. Standard kit for any technician working iPhone logic boards.
Polarity warning: respect bench-supply polarity. Reverse the positive and negative terminals and you will damage the logic board. This cable is for trained repair technicians. You need a bench DC power supply already.
Built for Every iPhone Repair Bench in Australia
Independent iPhone Repair Shops
High-volume iPhone shops save minutes per ticket. Boot boards on the bench supply. No need to unbox a fresh battery for every job.
Multi-Brand Mobile Workshops
Sit the Power Air cable next to your Samsung and Pixel boot cables. Run one consolidated DC-power workflow on the iPhone side of the bench.
Refurb / Re-Sell Operations
Confirm inbound used iPhone boards boot before you allocate a fresh battery. This protects your battery margin on stock with hidden faults.
Logic-Board Repair Specialists
Micro-soldering and BGA-rework benches need controlled voltage at every QC step. Power Air pairs with any variable bench supply.
Trainee Technicians and Students
TAFE, WSU and private repair-school students learn iPhone diagnostics. Power Air is the standard cable taught in board-level repair courses.
DIY Hobbyists with a Bench Supply
Already own a variable DC bench supply? You also need iPhone-board pinout knowledge. Power Air then slots straight into your home-bench workflow.
Bulk Refurb Labs
High-volume refurb lines pair Power Air with a multi-output supply. QC several boards in parallel. Workflow scales without per-job battery cost.
Insurance Assessment Shops
Drop-test, water-damage and theft-recovery iPhone assessments need fast board-level boot tests. The result tells you repairable vs total-loss.

QC-test inbound iPhone logic boards, displays and Face ID modules at receiving. Power Air handles the boot stage of the test rig.
Mobile Tech YouTubers / Content
Repair YouTubers and content creators show iPhone-board diagnostics on camera. Power Air keeps the bench tidy. No battery in shot.
Mechanic Power Air vs Cheap Generic Boot Cable
Mechanic Power Air Boot Cable
- Pure copper wire core. Low voltage drop, stable current.
- FPC soft connector. Flexes without stressing the board socket.
- One-to-one battery latch reduction. Clicks like an OEM battery FPC.
- Vendor-rated for iPhone 7 through iPhone 17 Pro Max.
- Tension-resistant wire jacket. Survives daily repeat use.
- Bench-checked at the Forest Lake workshop for continuity and polarity.
Cheap Overseas Generic Boot Cable
- Copper-clad aluminium core. Voltage drops under bench-supply load.
- Rigid pin-clip head. Stresses the board's battery FPC socket pads.
- Loose latch. Pops out under bench movement. Kills the test mid-boot.
- Single-generation cable. Or a vague "all iPhones" claim with no QC.
- Brittle wire jacket. FPC head separates from the cable in months.
- Three to six week overseas freight. No Australian support contact.

Important Care & Use Note
Set the bench supply between 3.7 V and 4.4 V before connecting the FPC head. Never apply higher voltage. Confirm positive and negative polarity at the supply terminals before powering on. Reverse polarity will permanently damage the logic board. This will void any board-level repair guarantee.
Apply standard ESD precautions. Use an anti-static wrist strap, grounded mat and no carpeted bench. Insert and remove the FPC head with the supply switched OFF. Wipe the cable clean with an isopropyl-damp microfibre. Never use solvents on the FPC head. Inspect for fraying near the FPC head and the supply terminals on every use. Replace the cable at the first sign of damage.
