This protector is made for the external cover display of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. It must not be installed on the flexible inner folding display. Google advises owners not to remove or peel back the pre-installed protector on the foldable screen and not to apply a third-party protector there. Everyday protection with realistic limits
Tempered glass can help protect the outer display from light scratches, surface wear and minor direct contact. It is intended to take damage before the phone screen in some everyday situations, but it does not make the Pixel 9 Pro Fold impact-proof or unbreakable. No screen protector can guarantee that the display will survive a drop, twist, heavy pressure or contact with a sharp object. The protector itself can chip or crack and should be replaced if damaged.
The glass is described by the supplier as scratch resistant, anti-shatter, anti-glare and smudge resistant. These terms describe intended surface features rather than a guarantee against all damage, glare, bubbles or fingerprints. Results depend on preparation, alignment, case clearance and normal use.
How to install the cover-screen protector
- Keep the Pixel 9 Pro Fold closed and remove any case that overlaps the front-screen edge.
- Clean the outer display with the alcohol swab, then dry it with the microfibre cloth.
- Use the dust-removal tape to lift every visible particle from the screen.
- Check the protector's orientation and camera opening before peeling away the backing.
- Align the glass over the outer display and lower it gently from one edge. Press lightly through the centre and guide remaining air towards the edges.
- Inspect the full perimeter before refitting the case. Stop if the case presses against or lifts the protector.
Case compatibility and care
Cases for folding phones often use a front frame around the cover display, and some frames leave less room than others. Check the case opening before installation and avoid forcing a case over the edge of the glass. A case that pushes against the protector can cause lifting or cracking. Clean the fitted protector with a soft, dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners or sharp tools.
