When this part may be needed
A confirmed front-camera fault can cause a blank preview, failure to open, poor focus, blurred selfies or video issues. Similar symptoms may also come from damaged connectors, the logic board, software, liquid exposure or another TrueDepth component. Diagnose the fault before ordering.
Face ID, programming and calibration
This PULL-A listing does not guarantee restoration of Face ID. Apple states that after a new genuine front camera is installed, Repair Assistant must complete the repair and Face ID remains unavailable until calibration is finished. Apple also warns that non-genuine or incomplete front-camera repairs can cause focus, portrait-mode and third-party app problems.
The supplier provides an i4Tools flashing instruction image. That is supplier guidance only; it is not an Apple-supported calibration guarantee and must not be interpreted as assurance that Face ID, Parts and Service History or all TrueDepth functions will be restored.
Installation
