This assembly includes the UDFPS (Under Display Fingerprint Scanner). Calibration may be required after installation. Follow these steps in order:
Step 1
First bootup test: Place the phone flat on a surface. Do not touch the screen at all during first boot. The Pixel 9 may auto-calibrate the fingerprint sensor on its own.
Step 2
Test fingerprint: If the sensor works after first boot, no further calibration is needed. Set up your fingerprints in Settings as normal.
Step 3
If calibration needed: Use Google's official tool via Chrome on a PC or Mac. Boot phone into Fastboot mode (not Rescue mode), connect USB-C, and follow the prompts at the link below.

Does this screen come with the fingerprint sensor already installed?
Yes. This is a complete assembly. The Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor (UDFPS) is pre-installed beneath the OLED glass. The bezel frame is also pre-fitted. You receive one complete unit — display, frame, and fingerprint sensor — ready to fit directly into the Pixel 9 chassis. No separate sensor transfer is required from the old screen.
Do I need to run the UDFPS calibration tool?
Try the first bootup procedure first. Place the phone flat on a surface after installation and do not touch the screen at all during the first boot. The Pixel 9 often auto-calibrates the fingerprint sensor during this process. If the fingerprint sensor works correctly after the first boot, no further steps are needed. What is the difference between Full Original and aftermarket OLED screens?
Full Original OLED screens use the same panel type as the factory-fitted screen. Brightness, colour accuracy, and touch sensitivity match the original specification. Aftermarket or "incell" copy screens use lower-quality LCD or OLED panels and typically show differences in colour temperature, brightness, and viewing angles. This product is Full Original quality — it restores the display to factory performance. It is the correct choice if display accuracy and fingerprint sensor functionality matter to you.
Can I install this screen myself?
Professional installation is strongly recommended. The Pixel 9 uses glued glass construction that requires controlled heat to open. The OLED ribbon cables are fragile — one wrong angle tears them permanently. If you have experience repairing modern Android phones, a heat gun, opening tools, and precision screwdrivers, DIY is possible. If not, the risk of damaging the new display during installation is significant. DIY damage is not covered by the 12-month warranty. Will my Pixel 9 still be water resistant after a screen replacement?
The Pixel 9 is IP68 rated from the factory. Opening the device breaks the factory adhesive seal. Water resistance can be partially restored using correct adhesive during reassembly, but the original IP68 rating will not return. After a screen replacement, treat the phone as water-resistant rather than waterproof. Avoid submerging it in water. This is the same outcome for any screen replacement on any IP68-rated phone, regardless of whether the repair is done by a third-party or at a Google authorised service centre.
How do I put my Pixel 9 into Fastboot mode for calibration?
Power off the phone completely. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time until the Fastboot screen appears. The Fastboot screen shows the Android mascot or text options — this is correct. Connect the phone to your PC or Mac with a quality USB-C data cable while in this mode. Open Chrome and go to pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps. Important: do not use Rescue mode for this calibration — Rescue mode looks similar but the calibration tool will not detect the phone in that state.
Should I test the screen before applying adhesive?
Yes — always test before sealing. Connect the new display assembly to the phone's connectors without fully seating it in the chassis. Power the phone on and check that the display lights up, touch response works, and the fingerprint sensor responds correctly. Run through all four corners of the screen to check for dead zones. If everything works, then power off, fully seat the display, apply adhesive, and close the device. Testing first saves you from permanently sealing in a problem that could be fixed without reopening.
What does the 12-month warranty cover?
The 12-month warranty covers manufacturing defects — dead pixels, touch failure, display discolouration, or fingerprint sensor failure that were present at the time of purchase or develop under normal use. It does not cover physical damage from incorrect installation, cracking after fitting, water damage, or damage caused by a second repair attempt. Will screen protectors and cases still work after replacing the screen?
Standard tempered glass and film screen protectors work with this Full Original OLED assembly. Most thin screen protectors are also compatible with the UDFPS sensor once the phone has been calibrated. Note: during the first bootup procedure, the screen must be bare — no screen protector. Apply your protector only after the phone has fully booted and the fingerprint sensor is working. Cases made for the Pixel 9 will fit without any issue, as the bezel frame dimensions match the original chassis exactly.
Is this screen compatible with all Pixel 9 variants?
This screen is specifically designed for the base Google Pixel 9 (model numbers G2YBB, GUR25, G1B60). It is not compatible with the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Those models use different display sizes, connector positions, and chassis dimensions. Check your phone's model number before ordering.
