Installation — Pro Repair Strongly Advised
⚠️ Repair part only. This is a bare display assembly for installation by a qualified iPhone technician. Not a complete iPhone.
🔥 Specialist tools required. Heat tool, suction lifter, picks, pentalobe and tri-point screwdrivers, plastic spudgers. Local pickup and pro fitment available at Shop 3A, 152 Woogaroo St, Forest Lake QLD 4078.
Step 1 — Power Off and Pentalobe
Shut down. Remove two pentalobe screws beside the Lightning port.
Step 2 — Heat and Open
Warm the front bezel. Use a suction cup and pick to slice the perimeter adhesive.
Step 3 — Disconnect Battery First
Remove tri-point screen flex bracket, then disconnect battery before display flex.
Step 4 — Move Earpiece Speaker
Transfer the earpiece speaker and Face ID flex bracket to the new BQ7 panel.
Step 5 — Seat New Display
Reconnect display, digitiser and Face ID flexes. Power test before sealing.
Step 6 — Reseal and Verify
Apply fresh perimeter adhesive. Confirm True Tone in Settings → Display & Brightness.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does diagnosable and configuration ready mean?+
Diagnosable means the iPhone recognises this aftermarket display as a valid Apple display. There is no Unknown Part warning under Settings → General → About. Configuration ready means no programmer like JCID or JC V1SE is needed. Install, connect, power on. True Tone works straight away.
Is this the same as a genuine Apple OEM display?+
No. This is premium aftermarket Soft OLED, not pulled-from-Apple OEM. It is the closest aftermarket option available. Same flexible OLED substrate, vivid colour, deep blacks and diagnosable status. Side by side with a brand new genuine display, only the most experienced eye may notice tiny peak brightness differences in direct sun.
Will True Tone work without me doing anything?+
Yes. The display IC is pre-paired so True Tone is enabled automatically when the phone boots after install. No programmer, no IC chip transfer, no extra step. True Tone shows in Settings → Display & Brightness as it would on the original screen.
Will Face ID still work after the swap?+
Yes. The Face ID dot projector and TrueDepth camera live in the original iPhone chassis. They do not move with the screen. This BQ7 ships with the proximity and ambient light sensor flex pre-installed. Face ID resumes after a clean install. Most failures are caused by a damaged Face ID flex during disassembly, not the new screen.
Is the iPhone 14 Plus 120Hz like the Pro models?+
No. The iPhone 14 Plus is the larger version of the standard iPhone 14 with a fixed 60Hz refresh rate. Apple reserves ProMotion 120Hz for the Pro and Pro Max only. This BQ7 matches the original iPhone 14 Plus 60Hz spec. If you have a Pro or Pro Max, order a different screen.
Should I choose Soft OLED or the cheaper Incell?+
Choose Soft OLED when the customer wants OEM-like quality, deeper blacks, brighter sun visibility, True Tone out of the box and the iPhone is for business or premium use. Choose Incell when budget is the deciding factor. Incell needs IC chip transfer for True Tone but is significantly cheaper.
What iPhone models does this fit?+
iPhone 14 Plus only (6.7-inch with notch). Compatible model numbers: A2886 (US), A2632 (Canada and global), A2885 (China, HK, Macao) and A2887 (Australia, UK, EU, Japan). It does not fit iPhone 14 Pro Max, 14 Pro, standard 14, 15 Plus, 16 Plus or any older Plus or Max model.
Will this fix ghost touch and unresponsive zones?+
Yes. The BQ7 includes a high-sensitivity capacitive multi-touch digitiser. Replacing the screen resolves unresponsive touch, ghost touches, dead zones and partial touch failure caused by panel damage. Ghost touches caused by water damage, mainboard fault or a faulty Tristar IC will not be fixed by a screen swap alone.

What does the 12-month warranty cover?+
Covered: dead pixels, dead lines, ghost touches, touch failure, display not turning on, backlight problems and colour issues not caused by physical damage. Not covered: cracks, drops, water damage and damage caused during incorrect installation. Australian Consumer Law protections also apply.
