    Disconnect The Battery First

    Always isolate the battery before unplugging the LCD flex. Stops short circuits.

    Lift The Digitizer Carefully

    Use slow heat and a thin pick. Avoid cracking the touch glass during separation.

    Mind The LCD Screws

    Four small Phillips screws hold the LCD bracket. Catch and label each one.

    Seat The Flex Connector Square

    Press the LCD flex onto the logic board until it clicks. Confirm full seat.

    Power-Test Before Adhesive

    Reconnect battery, power on, run a colour and brightness test. Confirm clean image first.

    Keep Factory Film On

    Will this single LCD really fit all three iPad generations?+

    Yes. Apple kept the iPad 10.2-inch display module identical from 2019 to 2021. Same connector pinout, frame and backlight driver. One BQ7 LCD covers iPad 7, 8 and 9.

    Is the touch glass digitizer or Home Button included?+

    No. This is the LCD panel and backlight only. The digitizer transfers from your old display, and so does the Home Button assembly. Order our matching BQ7 digitizer if your touch glass is also broken.

    Do I need calibration software or a programmer?+

    No. The LCD connector is fully plug-and-play. Plug it into the logic board, refit the digitizer and power on. No soldering, no programming and no True Tone tool needed for the iPad 10.2 family.

    My iPad has lines AND a cracked screen — what do I order?+

    Both layers. A heavy impact often damages the touch glass and the LCD underneath. Order this BQ7 LCD plus the matching BQ7 digitizer in black or white. Both fit the same iPad 7, 8 and 9 family.

    How do I check my iPad model number?+

    Look on the back of the iPad in fine print. Or open Settings, General, About and check Model Number. Fits these A-numbers: A2197, A2200, A2198, A2270, A2428, A2429, A2430, A2602, A2603, A2604 and A2605.

    Is the colour and brightness identical to the original Apple LCD?+

    Yes. The BQ7 panel is sRGB-calibrated to the same reference profile. Uses a matched backlight curve. Brightness, colour and viewing angle behave like the factory display. Native 264 PPI Retina spec.

    Is BQ7 the same as a genuine Apple panel?+

    No. BQ7 is the top tier of aftermarket Retina LCD. Above generic clones and below genuine Apple service-pack. Honest aftermarket grade with vendor warranty backing. Apple service-pack is only sold through Apple AASP.

    Can I install this myself or should I use a workshop?+

    Confident DIYers can do it. Tools needed: heat pad, plastic spudger, suction cup and fresh adhesive. Beginners should book a workshop install. Battery disconnect and clean digitizer lift need careful technique.

    What does the 12-month warranty cover?+

    Manufacturing defects. Examples: factory dead pixels, backlight failure not caused by handling, out-of-spec colour or brightness. Install damage is not covered. Australian Consumer Law rights apply alongside the vendor warranty.
