Installation and battery safety
Professional installation is strongly recommended. Power the phone off and discharge the existing battery below 25% before disassembly. Do not apply heat to a swollen battery, and never bend, puncture, crush or pry against a lithium battery with metal tools.
Opening the Galaxy S9 damages its factory waterproof seals. New rear-cover adhesive is required during reassembly, but the original IP water-resistance rating cannot be guaranteed after repair. Test the phone before resealing it.
Important notes
Battery replacement may improve symptoms caused by an aged or damaged battery, but it will not repair unrelated charging-port, charging-coil, software or logic-board faults. Actual runtime varies with device condition, settings, signal strength, temperature and use.
After installation, charge the phone to 100% and keep it connected for at least two more hours. Use it until it shuts down from low charge, then recharge uninterrupted to 100% to calibrate the battery reading. Recycle the removed battery through an appropriate battery-recycling service.
