    Make Sure You Need the LOWER Board

    The iPhone 12 Pro Max uses a stacked sandwich logic board with two halves. Each half holds a different set of chips. Order the wrong half and the chips you want will not be there.

    Upper Board (NOT this product)

    Holds the CPU (A14 Bionic), baseband, EEPROM and NAND. Use the upper for iCloud, IMEI or NAND data recovery.

    Lower Board (THIS product)

    Holds PMIC, Tristar or Tigris-T, audio codec, WiFi-BT, display IC, touch IC and backlight driver. Use the lower for charging, audio, screen and connectivity fixes.

    When Is This Lower Board Used?

    Water Damage Recovery

    The lower board sits next to the Lightning port. It takes the worst of liquid ingress damage. When traces corrode but the PMIC tests good, transfer it onto this clean substrate.

    No-Charge Faults

    Tristar or Tigris-T may test good with shorted lines around it. Reball the chip onto this clean lower substrate. Restores Lightning charging and accessory detection.

    No-Service / WiFi Failure

    The WiFi-BT combo chip may test good but routing has failed. Move the chip onto this clean substrate. Restores wireless and Bluetooth connectivity quickly.

    Audio + Mic Faults

    Earpiece, loudspeaker or mic may die from audio-codec failure. Transfer the codec IC onto this clean substrate. Restores all Lightning audio paths.

    Microsolder Training Schools

    Practice BGA reballing and reflow technique on real iPhone substrates. Ideal for repair schools teaching power-rail and charging-IC workflows.

    What is the iPhone 12 Pro Max lower CNC drilled donor board?+
    It is a clean machined PCB substrate. It mirrors the lower half of the iPhone 12 Pro Max stacked sandwich logic board. The board arrives blank with no chips installed. A microsolder technician removes working chips from a damaged donor board. Those chips then reball onto this clean substrate.
    Which chips can I transfer onto this lower board?+
    The lower half holds the Power Management IC (PMIC, U2700). It also holds the Tristar or Tigris-T Lightning charging IC (U6300). The audio codec, WiFi-BT combo chip, display IC, touch IC and backlight driver also live here. All of these can be lifted from a faulty donor board. Each can be reballed onto this clean substrate.
    What is the difference between the upper and lower CNC board?+
    The iPhone 12 Pro Max uses a stacked sandwich logic board. Two halves join with board-to-board connectors. The upper half holds the CPU, baseband, EEPROM and NAND chips. The upper handles iCloud unlock and data recovery work. The lower half holds the PMIC, charging IC, audio, WiFi and display ICs. The lower handles charging, audio, screen and connectivity fixes. This product is the lower half only.
    Will this fix an iPhone 12 Pro Max that won't charge?+
    It can if the no-charge fault is from damaged board traces. The Tristar or Tigris-T charging IC must still test good. Transfer the working chip onto this clean lower substrate. That restores the Lightning charging circuit. If the IC itself is dead, source a known-good replacement first. Diagnose with a power supply and ammeter before swapping.
    Does the iCloud lock follow the lower board?+
    No. The iCloud activation lock is bonded to the CPU chip. The CPU sits on the upper board, not the lower. The lower board has no role in iCloud authentication. To recover an iCloud-locked iPhone you need the upper CNC donor board instead.
    Are any chips pre-installed on the board?+
    No. This is a completely blank donor board. No PMIC, no charging IC and no audio codec are included. You must supply the working chips yourself. They come from your own donor iPhone 12 Pro Max 128GB lower board. The blank substrate gives you a clean platform to reball onto.
    What tools are needed for the chip swap?+
    Advanced board-level repair gear is required. A hot air rework station with fine nozzles is essential. So is a fine-tip soldering iron, low-melt solder, flux and BGA solder balls. A reballing stencil matched to iPhone 12 Pro Max BGA pitch is needed too. A stereo microscope is essential for accurate chip placement. This is not suitable for home repair.
    Will this work with a 256GB or 512GB iPhone 12 Pro Max?+
    No. This lower board is configured for 128GB-spec devices only. Higher-capacity models can have minor pad-layout differences. Those affect connector seating between the two halves of the stack. Check capacity in Settings, then General, then About, then Storage. Confirm 128GB on the donor phone before purchasing.

    Does this CNC board come with a warranty?+
    No warranty is included with blank CNC donor boards. The board is a bare substrate. Working performance depends entirely on the chips your technician installs. Quality of the reball and reflow work also matters. A chip damaged during removal or reflow is not covered. Test chip continuity before and after every transfer.
