⚠️ Advanced Micro-Soldering Required — Professionals Only
The BQ24193 is a BGA-type integrated circuit. Replacement requires a hot air rework station, quality flux, BGA reballing skills, and experience with Nintendo Switch motherboard repair. Incorrect heat, poor flux application, or pad damage during removal will permanently destroy the board. This part is intended for trained technicians only — not a beginner repair.

What the BQ24193 Controls
The BQ24193 is a Texas Instruments Li-Ion battery charger IC embedded in the Nintendo Switch motherboard. It controls how the battery charges — current rate, cutoff voltage, thermal limits, and power delivery from the USB-C port. When it fails, the Switch either refuses to charge at all, charges extremely slowly, or draws only 0.46A regardless of charger output. Replacing the chip with a correct-spec BQ24193 restores full charging logic to the board.
🔍 Is This the Right Part? Diagnostic Fault Patterns
A failed BQ24193 creates specific, recognisable fault patterns. Match your Switch symptoms below before ordering.
⚡ 0.46A Stuck Draw
The Switch draws only 0.46A from any charger and never progresses to a higher current. This is the most common electrical signature of a failed BQ24193 on the Switch motherboard.
🔋 Won't Charge At All
Switch shows no charging indicator. Battery drains fully and the console will not accept charge even from the official Nintendo charger. USB-C port is intact and shows no physical damage.
🐢 Extremely Slow Charge
Switch charges, but only from near-empty to full in 10–12+ hours. The BQ24193 is limiting the charge rate well below normal. Screen-on charging may not keep up with discharge.
🌡️ Overheating at Port
Switch runs unusually hot near the USB-C area while charging. The BQ24193 failing can cause unregulated current flow, leading to excess heat in the charging circuit.
⚠️ Always rule out the USB-C port first. If the port has bent pins or physical damage, replace it before diagnosing the BQ24193. A damaged port can mimic IC failure. If the port is intact and you are still seeing a 0.46A draw, the BQ24193 is the likely fault. Call 0480 039 913 if you need help diagnosing before you order.
🔧 What Makes This IC Suitable for Professional Repair
Designed to the exact BQ24193 specification for the Nintendo Switch power circuit.
🎯 Exact Part Match
BQ24193 exact part specification. Correct package, correct pinout, correct electrical ratings for the Nintendo Switch power circuit.
🔬 Pre-Inspected Stock
Every chip is inspected before dispatch. We do not sell bulk untested lots — each unit passes quality inspection before leaving our Brisbane warehouse.
🔋 Full Charging Logic
Restores correct charge current regulation, thermal cutoff, and battery protection functions. A successful replacement brings full charging speed back to the Switch.
🌡️ Thermal Stability
Rated for the thermal demands of the Switch charging circuit. Stabilises voltage delivery during fast-charge cycles and prevents runaway heating at the board level.
📐 OEM Board Footprint
Fits the original BQ24193 pad footprint on the HAC-001 motherboard. No board modifications needed — direct replacement onto existing pads.
🤝 Works With M92T36
The BQ24193 works alongside the M92T36 USB-C power delivery IC. Both chips are part of the Switch charging circuit — if BQ24193 alone does not resolve the fault, check the M92T36 next.
🎮 Device Compatibility
✅ Compatible
Nintendo Switch Original
HAC-001 (V1 — original 2017 model)
HAC-001(-01) (V2 — improved battery, 2019)
Both use the BQ24193 in their power circuit.
⚠️ Verify Before Ordering
Nintendo Switch Lite (HAC-002) — different board architecture. Verify part number before ordering.
Nintendo Switch OLED (HEG-001) — different board revision. Verify part number before ordering.
Check the model number printed on the back of your console. HAC-001 = confirmed compatible. For Lite or OLED, call 0480 039 913 before ordering to confirm the correct chip.
