Confirm It's The Port — Not Something Else

- Try a different HDMI cable. Cables fail more often than ports.
- Try a different TV or monitor input.
- Boot into Safe Mode. Hold power until two beeps with the console off.
- Pick "Change Resolution" in Safe Mode. This resets bad video settings.
- Shine a torch into the port. Look for bent, snapped or blackened pins.
- Wiggle the cable gently. Signal dropouts point to a loose port.
- Port looks perfect and sits firm? The MN864729 encoder IC may be at fault instead.

Install Notes — Soldering Is Required
This port is surface-mounted to the motherboard. There is no plug-in option.
- Unplug the console and discharge yourself before opening. Use an anti-static mat.
- Full teardown is needed to reach the motherboard.
- Desolder the old port with a hot-air rework station. An iron alone risks lifted pads.
- Clean all 19 pads with flux and solder wick before fitting the new port.
- Seat the four anchor posts first. Then reflow the signal pins.
- Check for bridges under magnification before reassembly.
- Excess heat can damage the nearby MN864729 encoder IC. Shield it.

Very likely, but rule out the easy causes first. Try a different HDMI cable and a different TV. Then reset video settings in Safe Mode. If bent pins are visible, this port is the correct part.
