    When to Replace Your MacBook Logo Bar

    If your MacBook Pro 13" shows any of these cosmetic display issues, a fresh logo bar bezel restores the laptop's clean factory look.

    Installation Overview — Pro Workshop Job

    The logo bar sits directly under the LCD panel and is held by adhesive. The display assembly is fragile. We strongly recommend a qualified technician handle the swap to avoid screen damage.

    Step 1 — Power Down + Cool Workspace

    Shut down the MacBook fully. Place it lid-up on a clean lint-free surface. Have isopropyl alcohol and a heat pad ready.

    Step 2 — Warm the Old Bezel

    Apply gentle heat across the logo bar to soften the factory adhesive. Avoid heating the LCD itself — warm the strip only.

    Step 3 — Lift the Old Strip

    Slide a thin plastic prying tool under one corner. Walk it across to release the bezel without flexing the LCD glass above.

    Step 4 — Clean the Channel

    Wipe the recess clean with isopropyl alcohol on a lint-free cloth. Remove every trace of old adhesive for a flush new fit.

    Step 5 — Apply Fresh Adhesive

    Lay precision-cut double-sided tape into the channel. Press it flat. Use thin strips so nothing squeezes out at the edges.

    Step 6 — Seat the New Logo Bar

    Align the wordmark dead-centre. Lower the bezel and press evenly across the full 30.1cm length. Hold for 30 seconds for adhesion.

    Strongly recommended: Book the workshop install. Excess heat or pry pressure can crack the LCD — a screen replacement costs many times more than the bezel itself. Walk-in service available at our Forest Lake counter.

    Will this fit my MacBook Pro 13" model?+
    Yes, if your model number is A1706, A1708, A1989, A2159, A2289 or A2338. That covers every 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2016 through to the M2 (2022). Check the model number on the underside of the laptop or in About This Mac.
    Will it fit the new 14" MacBook Pro M1 / M2 / M3?+
    No. The 14" MacBook Pro (A2442, A2779, A2918) and the 16" MacBook Pro (A2485, A2780, A2991) use a different chassis and bezel design. This logo bar fits 13-inch models only — A1706 to A2338.
    Does it have the embossed "MacBook Pro" wordmark?+
    Yes. The bezel features the official-style "MacBook Pro" wordmark embossed flush into the strip, just as the factory original does. The text is colour-matched to the Space Grey body finish.
    What colour is it — Space Grey or Silver?+
    Space Grey only. If your MacBook Pro is the Silver finish, this bezel will not colour-match the rest of the laptop. Confirm your laptop colour before ordering — mixed-colour bezels look odd in the lid line.
    Is adhesive included?+
    No. The bezel ships as the strip alone. Pair it with a precision-cut MacBook display adhesive kit or thin double-sided tape sized for the recess. We can supply adhesive at the workshop install.
    Can I install it myself?+
    Mid-to-advanced difficulty. The strip sits directly under the LCD panel, which is fragile. Excess heat or pry pressure can crack the screen — a far more expensive repair. Confident MacBook DIY repairers can do it. New repairers should book a workshop install.
    What's the warranty?+
    Cosmetic accessory hardware ships with a 7-day dead-on-arrival cover only. If the bezel arrives cracked, warped, or with finish defects, contact us within 7 days for a replacement. Damage caused during install is not covered.
    Is the screen safe during this swap?+
    If you work patiently with low heat and plastic tools only, the LCD panel is safe. Metal pry tools and rushed lifting are how screens get cracked. Take it slow, or hand the job to a workshop tech — the screen replacement bill far outweighs the cost of a pro install.
