    🔌 MagSafe 2 vs MagSafe — What's the Difference?

    🔌 MagSafe (Original)

    The original MagSafe connector is wider and thicker. It was used on MacBook Pro models from 2006 to 2012 (Mid 2012 and earlier). It comes in both L-tip and T-tip styles. This adapter does NOT use the original MagSafe connector.

    🔌 MagSafe 2 (This Adapter)

    MagSafe 2 is thinner and wider than the original. Apple introduced it with the MacBook Pro 13-inch Late 2012 model. All MacBook Pro 13-inch models from Late 2012 to 2015 use MagSafe 2. This adapter is the correct T-style MagSafe 2 connector for those models.

    What does Pull-A grade mean?
    Pull-A means the adapter was removed from a working MacBook Pro. It has been tested to confirm it charges correctly and outputs the right power. It is not brand new — it is a Grade A refurbished unit. Grade A is the highest refurbished condition. The adapter functions exactly as it should. It may have light marks on the casing from previous use but nothing that affects performance.
    What is the difference between MagSafe and MagSafe 2?
    MagSafe (original) is the wider, thicker magnetic connector used on MacBook Pro models up to Mid 2012. MagSafe 2 is thinner and wider. Apple introduced it on the MacBook Pro 13-inch from Late 2012 onwards. The two connectors look similar but they are not interchangeable. This adapter uses MagSafe 2. If you have a MacBook Pro from before Late 2012, you need the original MagSafe adapter instead.
    What does T-style mean for a MagSafe 2 adapter?
    MagSafe 2 adapters come in two tip styles — T and L. The T-style has the cable running straight out from the connector at a 90-degree angle, forming a T-shape when plugged in. The L-style has the cable running parallel to the MacBook body. Both styles work with the same MagSafe 2 port. The T-style is a common preference as it keeps the cable clear of the desk surface.
    Which MacBook Pro models does this adapter fit?
    This adapter is compatible with MacBook Pro 13-inch models from Late 2012 through to Early 2015. That covers Late 2012, Early 2013, Late 2013, Mid 2014 and Early 2015. All of these models use the MagSafe 2 charging port and require a 60W adapter. It does not fit MacBook Pro 15-inch models, MacBook Air, or MacBook models with USB-C charging.
    What does the LED light on the connector tell me?
    When you plug the adapter into your MacBook Pro, a small LED light on the connector tip shows the charge status. An amber light means your MacBook is currently charging. A green light means the battery is fully charged. If no light appears, check that the connector is seated properly in the port and that the adapter is plugged into a working power point.
    What warranty comes with this adapter?
    This adapter includes a 12-month warranty. If the adapter fails to charge or stops functioning under normal use within 12 months of purchase, contact JPC Mobile for a replacement or refund.     Does this adapter work with Australian power points?
    Yes. This adapter comes with an AU plug suitable for Australian power points. The AC wall adapter and AC cord are both included. The AC cord gives you maximum cord length when using a power board or desk outlet. The compact wall adapter plugs directly into a wall point for convenient travel use.
    How does the magnetic connector protect my MacBook?
    The MagSafe 2 connector is held in place by a magnet rather than a physical lock. If the cord is pulled or someone trips over it, the connector simply detaches from the MacBook port. The laptop stays on your desk instead of being dragged off. This also protects the charging port from damage caused by a hard yank on the cable. The magnetic connection also prevents cord fraying at the port end over time.
    Why does wattage matter for a MacBook charger?
    MacBook Pro 13-inch models require a 60W adapter to charge at the correct speed under normal use. Using a lower-wattage adapter (such as a 45W MacBook Air adapter) may charge very slowly or not charge at all when the laptop is in use. Using a higher-wattage adapter (such as an 85W) is safe — the laptop only draws what it needs. The 60W adapter is the correct and recommended wattage for your MacBook Pro 13-inch.
