    PULL-A Grade Honesty Disclosure

PULL-A means pulled from a working donor Xbox Series X. Honestly labelled. Not new-OEM stock.

    Where the port comes from

Donor consoles come from insurance write-off claims, trade-ins and refurb stock. The boards are stripped clean.

    What Grade A means

No bent pins. No broken legs. No oxidation on the contact pads. Pin pitch holds true.

Why Microsoft does not sell this

Microsoft does not sell HDMI ports as service parts. PULL-A donor stock is the only genuine route.

    No manufacturer warranty

No Microsoft warranty on a donor port. JPC covers 7-day dead-on-arrival. Bench-test on arrival.

    Genuine vs aftermarket clone

PULL-A keeps real Microsoft pin pitch and contact gold plating. Aftermarket clones often drift the pitch.

    Honest grade label

We never sell PULL-A as new-OEM. PULL-A is donor stock from a working console. Honest label every time.

    Master-Level Micro-Soldering Repair (Not Plug-and-Play)

A HDMI port reflow is the highest-skill console repair. Master-level work only.

Step 1 · Open the Xbox

Use Torx drivers to remove the back vent and outer shell. Slow and careful.

Step 2 · Discharge and ESD

Ground yourself with an ESD wrist strap. Discharge any static off the board.

Step 3 · Hot Air Removal

Set the hot air station to safe reflow temperature. Slowly lift the broken port.

Step 4 · Clean the Pads

Wick away old solder. Clean every pad with flux. Confirm no lifted pads.

Step 5 · Place the New Port

Tin each pad with fresh solder. Align the new PULL-A port over the footprint.

Step 6 · Reflow and Inspect

Reflow the joints with hot air. Inspect every pin under a microscope.

Step 7 · Reassemble and Test

Refit the shell and screws. Power on and check the HDMI 2.1 output.

    Tools and Skill Required

Hot air station, fine-tip iron, microscope, ESD mat. Master-level skill needed.

Damage from a lifted pad is not covered. Bring the console into the Forest Lake workshop if you want bench help.

Reasons to Stock the Xbox Series X HDMI 2.1 Port

Real-world reasons console repair benches need this part on the shelf.

HDMI port snap from cord trip

Toddlers, cords and tripping pets all snap the HDMI port off the board.

    Drop damage cracks the port

    Cheaper than mainboard swap

A port replacement is far cheaper than a full mainboard swap.

    Restores 4K 120Hz output

Restores the full 4K at 120Hz HDMI 2.1 output after install.

    Insurance write-off rebuilds

Insurance assessors approve port repair on minor cosmetic Xbox claims.

Xbox Series X HDMI 2.1 Port — Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit my Xbox Series X?+
It fits the standard Xbox Series X model 1882. Look at the label on the rear vent of the console. The model number is printed there. It does NOT fit the smaller Xbox Series S. The Series S uses a different HDMI port assembly.
Does this fit Xbox Series S?+
No. The Xbox Series S has a different chassis layout. It uses a different HDMI port footprint. Buy the Xbox Series S HDMI port instead. Wrong console means the part will not fit the board.
Does this fit older Xbox One consoles?+
No. Older Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles use HDMI 2.0. The connector pin layout and pitch are different. The 4K 120Hz HDMI 2.1 port will not fit. Use the correct HDMI 2.0 part for an Xbox One repair.
    Can I install this myself?+
Only if you are a master-level microsolder tech. The repair needs hot air rework and fine-tip soldering. A microscope is strongly recommended for clean joints. Bench time is 1 to 2 hours. Lift one pad and the motherboard is dead. Bring the console to our Forest Lake workshop if you want bench help.
What tools do I need to install it?+
Hot air rework station with adjustable temperature. Fine-tip soldering iron with chisel tip. Quality flux and solder paste. Microscope or magnifier for pin alignment. ESD safe work mat. Plastic spudgers and Torx driver kit to open the Xbox.
    Does this restore 4K 120Hz output?+
Yes. After a successful install, the full HDMI 2.1 output returns. That covers 4K at 120Hz, VRR and ALLM. HDR10 and Dolby Vision both work again. Bench-test the console on an HDMI 2.1 TV to confirm.
    What does PULL-A grade mean?+
PULL-A means pulled from a working donor Xbox Series X. The port worked on the donor before removal. Grade A means clean pins, no bent legs, no oxidation. We never sell PULL-A as new-OEM Microsoft stock. Honestly labelled, every time.
Is there a warranty on the port?+
Microsoft does not sell HDMI ports as a service part. There is no manufacturer warranty on a donor port. We cover dead-on-arrival cases for 7 days from delivery. That covers bent pins, broken legs or dead pins on arrival. Bench-test the port before any soldering.
What if I lift a pad during install?+
A lifted pad usually means the motherboard is dead. Pad jumpering is possible but very advanced. Most repair shops scrap the board after a serious lift. The 7-day DOA cover does not include install damage. Hire a microsolder pro if you are not sure.
How fast does it ship and can I collect from the workshop?+
Standard 2-4 business days from our Forest Lake QLD workshop. We ship tracked Australia Post or courier. Brisbane Metro and Gold Coast addresses often land next day. Collection is welcome at Shop 3A, 152 Woogaroo St, Forest Lake QLD 4078. Pay your way — Afterpay and Klarna available at checkout.
