    Installation Notes — Pro Tech Required

    An iPhone 15 screen swap takes 60-90 minutes for a careful technician. Read these notes before you start. The iPhone 15 opens from the front display.

    • Power off and discharge below 25% before opening. Cuts the risk of a battery short during install.
    • Heat the front edge with a heat mat or hair dryer. Softens the rear adhesive before lifting.
    • Remove the two Pentalobe screws at the Lightning / USB-C port edge. Keep them in a labelled tray.
    • Disconnect the battery FIRST after lifting the EMI shield. Then unplug the OLED and digitizer flex. Protects the panel from spike damage.
    • Transfer the Face ID dot projector flex with care. Damage to this flex disables Face ID permanently.
    • Replace the waterproof gasket seal around the chassis. Original IP68 rating drops without a fresh seal.
    • Run Apple Service Toolkit diagnostics after install. Confirms the panel is recognised. Calibrates True Tone on the new panel.
    • Confirm True Tone in Settings after diagnostics finish. Display > True Tone > toggle on.

    Vendor-confirmed 12-month warranty on every BQ7 Soft OLED panel. Starts from the date of dispatch. Covers the panel, digitizer and proximity flex.

    • Covered: dead pixels appearing within 12 months. Touch failure with no impact damage. Brightness drop or flicker not caused by user. Factory dot defects.
    • Not covered: drop, crack or compression damage after install. Water ingress through a missing gasket. Burnt drivers from a backwards battery connect. Connector seating damage from rough install.
    • Claim process: bring or post the panel to our Forest Lake counter. Add a short note on the fault. We test, confirm and replace under warranty.

    Standard repair-part warranty applies. Warranty covers the panel only. It does not cover labour or damage to the host phone.

    Will this fit my iPhone 15?+
    Yes — if your phone is the iPhone 15 base model (6.1"). Apple model A2846, A3089, A3090 or A3092. Will not fit the iPhone 15 Plus. Will not fit the iPhone 15 Pro. Will not fit the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Check Settings > General > About > Model Number to confirm.
    What does diagnosable mean?+
    Diagnosable means the panel responds to Apple Service Toolkit. Repair shops can run a full panel diagnostic. The panel reports pixel and touch faults like a genuine display. Cheap aftermarket panels fail this test. Diagnosable panels are the closest aftermarket option to a genuine Apple repair.
    What is Soft OLED?+
    Soft OLED uses a flexible plastic OLED layer. Each pixel makes its own light. Black pixels turn off fully. This gives true blacks and infinite contrast. The original iPhone 15 ships with Soft OLED. This BQ7 panel matches that exact tech. Hard OLED and Incell LCD are downgrades.
    Will True Tone work after the swap?+
    Yes — this panel is diagnosable. Apple Service Toolkit calibrates True Tone on the new panel. The diagnostics software handles the True Tone setup. No chip swap needed. After diagnostics finish, toggle True Tone on in Settings. Cheap non-diagnosable panels lock True Tone out.
    Will Face ID still work?+
    Yes — if the Face ID flex transplant is done with care. The Face ID dot projector and IR camera sit in a flex. That flex lives on the original panel. A pro tech moves that flex to the new BQ7 panel. Damage to this flex disables Face ID for good. Apple does not allow Face ID re-pairing. Use a tech you trust.
    Will iOS show an "Unknown Part" warning?+
    iOS may show a "Unknown Part" notice in Settings > General > About. This is normal for any non-Apple-paired panel. The iPhone keeps full function. Display, touch, brightness and True Tone all work. The notice cannot be removed without an Apple-paired panel from Apple itself.
    What is the warranty?+
    12 months on the panel and digitizer. Vendor-confirmed. Covers dead pixels. Covers touch failure not caused by impact. Covers brightness drop. Covers factory defects. Does not cover drop or compression damage. Does not cover water ingress from a missing gasket. Does not cover connector seating damage.
    Can I install it myself?+
    Possible — but not recommended. The iPhone 15 needs a Pentalobe and Tri-Point bit set. You'll need a heat mat. Plastic picks. A suction cup. A new waterproof gasket. Apple Service Toolkit access for True Tone calibration. Without all of these, you'll lose IP68 sealing or True Tone. Walk in to our Forest Lake counter for a bench-fit instead.
    Will my iPhone stay water-resistant?+
    Only if the waterproof gasket is replaced. The iPhone 15 ships with an IP68 rating. Once the screen is opened, the rear seal is broken. A fresh adhesive gasket has to go on before re-seating. Skip the gasket and water ingress is likely. Our bench fit always uses a fresh gasket.
