Diagnosable Plug-and-Play Install — 7 Steps
Power off. Remove the two P2 pentalobe screws beside the Lightning port.
Soften the adhesive with a heat pad. Use a suction cup and opening pick from the right side.
Remove the metal cover plates. Disconnect battery first. Then disconnect the three display flex connectors.
No microsoldering, no hot-air station and no microscope are needed. The driver IC ships pre-flashed inside this BQ7 Diagnosable assembly. Plug the display flex straight into the logic board.
Carefully transfer the earpiece speaker, proximity sensor and front camera flex from the original screen.
Reconnect display flex and battery. Power on. Test display, touch, Face ID, True Tone and earpiece. Then reseal.
Apply fresh waterproof adhesive strips. Press the screen home. Refit pentalobe screws. Done.
Test first. Always verify the screen, touch and Face ID work before reapplying adhesive. Discovering a fault after sealing means re-opening the phone.
