Critical Fitment — Confirm Your Model First
This part fits the original Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 released in September 2020. The model number is printed on the back of the tablet, near the bottom edge. It must read either SM-T500 (Wi-Fi only) or SM-T505 (Wi-Fi + LTE / 4G).
If your tablet is a Tab A7 Lite (SM-T220 or SM-T225, 8.7-inch screen, 2021), a Tab A8 10.5 (SM-X200 or SM-X205, 2022), or a Tab A 10.1 (SM-T510 or SM-T515, 2019), this part will not fit. Each of those tablets uses a different chassis and a different charging port board layout.
Not sure? Send a photo of the back-cover sticker with your order notes. We will verify the model before dispatch and swap to the correct part if needed.
Is The Charging Port Actually The Problem?
Before you order, run the three-step swap-test. The fault is often the cable, the charger, or the battery, not the port itself.
Try a known-good USB-C cable. Frayed or worn cables are the most common cause of "won't charge" on the Tab A7. If a fresh cable charges fine, your port is healthy.
Try a different wall adapter, ideally a 15W or higher Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging brick. A weak or aged charger can mimic a port fault.
Shine a torch into the USB-C port. Look for lint, bent pins, or corrosion. Lint blockage is extremely common on tablets carried in bags. A wooden toothpick clears most of it.
If the cable, charger and lint check all rule out, the charging port board itself is worn or damaged. That is exactly what this AMPLUS part replaces.
Symptoms This Charging Port Board Fixes
Charger plugged in, no charging icon, battery level static. Classic dead-port symptom once cable and brick are ruled out.
Tab A7 takes 8-12 hours to fill instead of the normal 3-4 hours. Worn USB-C contacts can drop the charge rate down to trickle.
Constant ding-dong notification as the charger drops in and out. Internal port pins are no longer making firm contact.
USB-C plug wobbles when seated, or falls out at the slightest knock. The metal latch tabs inside the port have worn out.
Charges only at one specific cable angle. Indicates worn data and power pins inside the USB-C connector.
Voice calls, video calls or recordings pick up no audio. The primary mic sits on this same charging port board, so a damaged board often kills both at once.
A cable yanked sideways, side-loaded, or stepped on has crushed the centre tongue inside the port. Pins visibly bent, missing or sitting at an angle.
Green or white residue inside the port from a spill or sweat. Corroded pins cannot pass clean current and need full board replacement.
Lightning-bolt icon shows briefly then drops away, or sits there but battery percentage never rises. Bad data-line handshake on the port.
USB data transfer to a laptop fails even though the cable is fine. The port can pass power but no longer pass data.
Why AMPLUS Aftermarket Plus Beats Cheap Aftermarket
AMPLUS stands for Aftermarket Plus — a higher-tier aftermarket grade built to OEM dimensions with proper bench-test sign-off. Plenty of mystery-vendor charging port boards exist on bulk listings for a few dollars. They cost less for a reason. Here is what AMPLUS Aftermarket Plus gives you that the cheap option does not.
AMPLUS is a recognised A-grade aftermarket brand. Each board uses spec-correct copper traces, gold-flash USB-C contacts and a properly seated mic module. Cheap clones cut corners on every layer.
Every AMPLUS board is multimeter-tested for USB-C continuity and the mic module is signal-checked. We catch DOA units before they ever reach you.
Some bargain listings ship the bare PCB with the mic module missing or de-soldered. AMPLUS ships the complete board with the mic seated, soldered and tested.
AMPLUS carries a full 12-month manufacturer warranty, handled locally from Forest Lake. Mystery-vendor parts give you no recourse and no return path.

Install Overview — Intermediate Skill Level
The Tab A7 charging port board sits behind the rear cover, near the bottom edge. The job typically takes 30 to 60 minutes for a confident DIY repairer. No soldering is required.
Heat source (hairdryer or repair mat), plastic opening picks, plastic spudger, PH00 Phillips screwdriver, ESD wrist strap and replacement rear-cover adhesive.
Warm the perimeter of the rear cover. This softens the factory adhesive so the cover lifts cleanly without cracking.
Slide a plastic pick into a top corner. Work slowly along each edge. Do not pry near the screen flex on the long side.
Always lift the battery FPC connector first using a plastic spudger. This isolates the board before any other work.
Lift the FPC clip on the old charging port board, unclip the ribbon cable and remove the small mounting screws. Lift the board out.
Seat the new board in the same recess. Re-clip the FPC ribbon, screw down. Reconnect the battery and bench-test before resealing.
If you are not confident opening tablets, book the install with our Forest Lake repair bench instead. Highly recommended for professional installation.
