    Correct Stretch-Release Install & Removal Steps

    Follow these steps to get the bond right and to remove cleanly next time.

    Step 1 — Clean the chassis

    Remove all old adhesive from the battery bay. Wipe the chassis with isopropyl alcohol. Wait one minute to dry.

    Step 2 — Peel the back liner

    Each strip has two liner films. Peel the back liner only. Leave the front liner in place. Do not touch the sticky face.

    Step 3 — Stick to the new battery

    Press each strip onto the back of the new battery. Match the original Apple layout. Pull tabs sit at the bottom edge.

    Step 4 — Peel the front liner

    Now peel the front liner from each strip. The sticky face is exposed. Keep the pull tabs folded out for later.

    Step 5 — Drop the battery in

    Lower the battery into the chassis bay. Align the connector flex first. Press down firmly for 30 seconds.

    Step 6 — Tuck the pull tabs

    Fold the pull tabs flat against the battery. The display assembly will sit on top. Pull tabs stay accessible for the next swap.

    Future Removal — Pull at low angle

    Pull each tab parallel to the battery. Keep the angle under 30 degrees. Stretch slow and steady until the strip releases.

    If a Tab Snaps

    Drip isopropyl alcohol along the strip edge. Wait two minutes. Use a plastic card to lift the battery. Never bend the cell.
