Important — IC Chip Transfer Required

This BQ7 Soft OLED requires the technician to transfer the original display IC chip onto this new assembly. The chip lifts from the old broken screen. It sits on a small flex with a black square near the connector. Without the IC chip transfer, the iPhone 16e shows "Unable to verify display" warnings. True Tone also disappears after a non-transferred swap.

    Microsoldering Required

Hot-air station, microscope and flux work needed. The IC chip flex is desoldered from the original and reflowed onto this new assembly.

    Professional Install Recommended

Not a DIY-friendly install. Bring the part and your iPhone to a microsoldering shop. Most repair shops charge a small bench fee for the chip transfer.

    True Tone & Auto-Brightness

Both functions return after a successful chip transfer. The chip carries the panel calibration data iOS reads on every boot.

    Want Plug And Play?

A microsoldering bench (hot-air station, microscope, flux) is required for the IC chip transfer.

Why BQ7 Soft OLED Beats Cheap Aftermarket

Most aftermarket iPhone 16e screens are bottom-bin hard OLED or no-name soft OLED panels. Washed colour, weak peak brightness, ghost touch and brittle substrate that cracks during install. BQ7 sits at the top of the soft OLED aftermarket grade ladder. The result looks and feels close to OEM Apple OLED. Self-emissive deep blacks. Vivid P3 colour. 1200-nit peak HDR brightness.

    Self-Emissive Deep Blacks

Each OLED pixel emits its own light. Black pixels switch off completely. True blacks, infinite contrast. Matches the original Apple Super Retina XDR depth.

P3 Wide Colour & HDR Peaks

Full P3 wide colour gamut. 800 nits typical, 1200 nits peak HDR. HDR10 and Dolby Vision content renders with vivid highlights.

    Multi-Touch Digitiser

Capacitive multi-touch glass digitiser. Smooth response across the panel. No dead zones, no ghost touch.

    Face ID Compatible

Notch cutout matches OEM exactly (16e uses notch, NOT Dynamic Island). Transfer the original earpiece, proximity sensor and front camera flex. Face ID returns to full function.

    12-Month Warranty

Vendor-confirmed 12-month replacement warranty. Covers manufacturing defects on the panel and digitiser. Excludes physical damage.

    Bench Tested

Every panel is tested before dispatch. Pixels checked, touch swept, backlight verified. No dead-on-arrival units.

iPhone 16e Screen Problems This Soft OLED Fixes

Spotting any of these issues on your iPhone 16e? Time to swap the display assembly. This BQ7 Soft OLED resolves all of these faults.

    Cracked or shattered glass

Spider-web or shattered glass face. Touch may still work but glass shards risk fingers.

    Unresponsive or ghost touch

Touch ignores input or registers ghost taps with no finger present. Digitiser layer is damaged.

    Black or blank screen

Display will not light up. Phone still rings and vibrates. Panel or backlight has failed.

    Dead pixels or vertical lines

Black dots, vertical lines or coloured bars on the panel. Common after a hard drop on concrete.

    Burn-in or persistent ghosting

Faint static UI elements (status bar, keyboard) ghosted on the original OLED after long use. Fresh OLED panel resets the burn clock.

Green tint, pink tint or colour cast

Whole panel skewed green, pink or yellow after a drop or moisture intrusion. OLED driver IC or panel layer damaged. Swap restores accurate colour.

    BQ7 Soft OLED — Built-In Features

    Top BQ7 Aftermarket Grade

Sits at the top of the soft OLED aftermarket ladder. Tightest pixel tolerances, deepest blacks, highest peak HDR brightness.

    Self-Emissive Soft OLED

Flexible plastic OLED substrate. Each pixel lights itself. True blacks, infinite contrast, vivid HDR colour. Same panel technology Apple uses.

    Capacitive Multi-Touch

Bonded multi-touch digitiser. Smooth response across the full 6.1-inch panel. No dead zones, no ghost touch.

    Native 2532 × 1170 @ 460 PPI

Matches OEM iPhone 16e resolution exactly. iOS renders at native pixel density. Razor-sharp text and icons. No scaling artefacts.

    Face ID Notch Cutout

Pixel-perfect notch cutout for the TrueDepth camera array. Face ID returns after sensor flex transfer.

    Pre-Installed Back Plate

Steel back plate already mounted on the assembly. No extra screws or shields to transfer.

    Pre-Tested Before Dispatch

Every panel is tested before dispatch. Pixels checked, touch swept, backlight verified. No dead-on-arrival units.

    Foam-Protected Dispatch

Sealed in foam-lined rigid box. Glass face protected from impact. Connectors held flat against transit damage.

Soft OLED vs Hard OLED — The Real Difference

Both panel types output OLED self-emissive pixels with deep blacks. The difference is the substrate underneath. Cheap aftermarket sellers swap one for the other and call them equal. They are not. This BQ7 is genuine soft OLED — the same flexible plastic substrate Apple ships from the factory.

Soft OLED Wins — Flexible Plastic

Bends slightly under install pressure without cracking. Far less likely to fail during the screen swap. Hard OLED uses rigid glass and is brittle in the technician's hands.

Soft OLED Wins — Thinner Profile

Slimmer panel stack. Sits flush against the iPhone 16e chassis. Hard OLED is usually thicker and can press against internal flexes.

Soft OLED Wins — OEM Match

Same flexible substrate technology Apple uses on the factory iPhone 16e. Identical look-and-feel after install. Customer cannot tell the difference.

Hard OLED Loses — Cracks Under Pressure

Rigid glass substrate. Snaps if bent during install or sealed without perfect alignment. Higher install scrap rate, especially on first-time fitters.

Hard OLED Loses — Lower Peak Brightness

Most hard OLED replacements top out around 600 nits. This soft OLED hits 800 nits typical and 1200 nits peak HDR. Direct-sunlight readability is a real difference.

Honest Note — OLED PWM Disclosure

All OLED panels (factory and aftermarket) use low-frequency PWM dimming below 50 percent brightness. Some users with PWM sensitivity prefer the BQ7 Incell LCD variant instead. Honest disclosure.

IC Chip Transfer Install — 7 Steps

STEP 1 — Power Off And Remove Pentalobes

Power off the iPhone 16e. Remove the two P2 pentalobe screws beside the USB-C port.

STEP 2 — Heat And Open

Soften the adhesive with a heat pad. Use a suction cup and opening pick from the right side.

STEP 3 — Disconnect Battery And Display Flex

Remove the metal cover plates. Disconnect battery first. Then disconnect the three display flex connectors.

STEP 4 — Microsolder Transfer The IC Chip

Heat the IC flex with hot air. Lift the chip from the original screen. Reflow it onto the new BQ7 assembly under a microscope.

STEP 5 — Transfer Earpiece And Sensors

Carefully transfer the earpiece speaker, proximity sensor and front camera flex from the original screen.

STEP 6 — Test Before Sealing

Reconnect display flex and battery. Power on. Test display, touch, Face ID, True Tone and earpiece. Then reseal.

STEP 7 — Apply Adhesive And Close

Apply fresh waterproof adhesive strips. Press the screen home. Refit pentalobe screws. Done.

Test first. Always verify the screen and IC chip transfer work before reapplying adhesive. Discovering a fault after sealing means re-opening the phone.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is BQ7 Soft OLED and how is it different from Hard OLED? +

BQ7 is the top-tier aftermarket grade. Soft OLED uses a flexible plastic substrate (the same technology Apple ships from the factory). Hard OLED uses rigid glass.

Soft OLED bends slightly under install pressure without cracking, sits thinner against the chassis and matches OEM look-and-feel. Hard OLED is brittle, often thicker and usually has lower peak brightness.

Do I really need to transfer the IC chip on the iPhone 16e? +

Yes. Without the IC chip transfer, iOS shows an "Unable to verify display" warning on the iPhone 16e. True Tone disappears and auto-brightness behaviour can become inconsistent.

The chip carries the panel calibration data iOS reads on every boot. Transfer it via microsoldering and all warnings clear, True Tone returns and auto-brightness behaves normally.

Can I install this without microsoldering? +

No. The IC chip transfer is a microsoldering job: hot-air station, microscope and flux required. Not a DIY install. This screen is sold to repair shops and technicians with a microsoldering bench.

Will Face ID work on the iPhone 16e after I install this screen? +

Yes. The Face ID dot projector and TrueDepth camera live in the original iPhone 16e chassis — they do not move with the screen.

Carefully transfer the original earpiece, proximity sensor flex and front camera flex onto this new BQ7 Soft OLED assembly. Face ID returns to full function. If it fails, the cause is almost always a damaged flex or a partly seated connector — not the screen itself.

Will True Tone and Auto-Brightness work after install? +

Yes — both return after a successful IC chip transfer. The chip carries the OLED panel calibration data iOS reads.

Skip the chip transfer and True Tone disappears, auto-brightness becomes erratic and the "Unknown Part" warning appears under Settings, General, About.

Does the iPhone 16e support 120Hz ProMotion? +

No. The iPhone 16e is a 60Hz panel from the factory — ProMotion 120Hz is exclusive to iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.

Any aftermarket seller claiming 120Hz on a 16e screen is misleading. This BQ7 matches the OEM 60Hz refresh rate exactly — nothing more, nothing less.

Will this screen fit iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max? +

No. iPhone 16e is the ONLY model that uses the notch cutout in the iPhone 16 family. iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max all use Dynamic Island.

iPhone 16e (6.1″) only. Verify your model number under Settings, General, About, Model Number. Compatible: A3212, A3408, A3409, A3410.

Does this screen have OLED PWM flicker? (Honest disclosure) +

Yes — like every OLED panel (factory and aftermarket), low-frequency PWM dimming kicks in below roughly 50 percent brightness. This is inherent to OLED technology, not a defect of this BQ7 panel.

If you have PWM sensitivity (eye strain, headaches, migraines), pick the BQ7 Incell LCD variant instead — the LCD backlight is steady with no PWM flicker at any brightness level.

What does the 12-month warranty cover? +

Covered: dead pixels, dead lines, ghost touches, touch failure, OLED panel failing to turn on, green tint or pink tint not caused by physical damage. 12 months from purchase date.

Not covered: physical damage (cracks, drops, water), damage from incorrect installation, cosmetic issues that do not affect function. Always test the screen and IC chip transfer before applying adhesive. Australian Consumer Law protections also apply.

How fast does this ship across Australia? +

Dispatch is 2-4 business days from our Forest Lake counter. Brisbane Metro receives the parcel in 1-2 business days after dispatch. Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast in 2-3 business days. Adelaide, Perth, Hobart and Darwin in 3-5 business days. Tracked dispatch on every order.
