What charger do I need for my iPhone?

It depends on your iPhone model. iPhone 15 and 16 use USB-C. You need a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C PD wall charger.

iPhone 14 and older use Lightning. You need a USB-C to Lightning cable and a USB-C PD wall charger for fast charging. USB-A to Lightning cables also work but charge more slowly.

Is a GaN charger worth it compared to a regular charger?

Yes, for most people. GaN (Gallium Nitride) chargers run cooler, are smaller, and deliver more power than traditional silicon chargers of the same size.

A 45W GaN charger is about the same size as an old 12W Apple charger. If you want a powerful, compact charger that is safe for long-term use, GaN is the best choice available today.

Can I use one charger for my MacBook and iPhone at the same time?

Yes — with a dual-port charger. Our iQuick 45W dual-port GaN II charger has both USB-C and USB-A ports. Plug your MacBook into USB-C and your iPhone into USB-A.

The smart chip splits power automatically. MacBook gets the highest priority wattage via USB-C for the fastest possible charge.

Will a higher watt charger damage my phone battery?

No. Devices only draw the power they need. A 45W charger connected to an iPhone will not push 45W into the phone — the iPhone limits its own intake.

A higher watt charger simply means the device charges at its maximum speed. It will not overcharge or damage your battery.

What is the difference between USB-C PD and USB-A QC 3.0?

USB-C PD (Power Delivery) is the newer, faster standard. It supports up to 100W and works with MacBook, iPad, iPhone 15/16, and most modern Android phones.

USB-A QC 3.0 (Quick Charge) is the fast-charging standard for the older USB-A connector. It delivers up to 18W. Good for older Android phones and accessories that still use USB-A cables.
