What BQ7 Means & Why Trade Buyers Pick It
BQ7 is the highest aftermarket grade for iPhone 11 LCDs built to OEM dimensions, OEM bezel thickness and OEM colour profile. It is the trade-favourite choice for high-volume repair shops and refurbishers across Australia.
Low-temperature polysilicon LCD the same panel technology Apple uses in the original Liquid Retina. Faster pixel response and lower power draw than older a-Si LCD aftermarket grades.
Touch sensor laminated inside the display layer no air gap between glass and panel. Thinner profile, more responsive touch and richer colour saturation than on-cell aftermarket panels.
Chip-On-Flex layout (not COG). Driver chips sit on the flexible cable rather than the glass allowing the thin bottom bezel that matches the OEM iPhone 11 appearance.
OEM-layout IC chip pads pre-built into the COF flex. Built to accept the touch IC and backlight IC chips transferred from your old screen keeps True Tone working.
Punches above the price point 650 nits typical brightness exceeds Apple's 625 nit spec. 97% NTSC colour gamut for accurate, vibrant photo and video reproduction.
Every panel bench-tested for touch accuracy, dead pixels, backlight uniformity and colour fidelity before being packed and dispatched from our Forest Lake counter.

IC Chip Transfer Required for True Tone
This BQ7 panel ships with reserved IC pads on the COF flex the chips themselves must be transferred from your original broken screen. Moving the touch IC and backlight IC across keeps True Tone working and prevents iOS from showing the "Unknown Part" warning in Settings.
- What to transfer: Touch IC chip and backlight IC chip from the COF flex of your old screen onto the reserved pads on this BQ7 panel.
- Why it matters: The touch IC carries the True Tone calibration data paired to your iPhone's logic board. Without the transfer, True Tone disappears from iOS settings.
- Face ID: Unaffected by the screen swap. Face ID lives in the TrueDepth camera assembly above the screen that module stays in the phone.
- Tooling needed: Hot air station (350-400C), microscope or magnification, soldering tweezers, low-temp solder, flux. Microsoldering skill required.
- Skill level: Advanced recommended for experienced repair technicians. First-time DIYers should book a pro install.
Pro install: walk in to our Forest Lake counter for a same-week appointment. Our technicians complete the IC chip transfer and full screen install in-house.
Test Before Final Install
Plug the new screen into the logic board and power on before sealing or transferring IC chips. Check display, touch and haptic touch zones first. Returns are not accepted once IC chips have been moved or adhesive has been applied.

Install Notes & Best Practice
- Required tooling: Pentalobe P2 + tri-point Y000 + Phillips #00 driver, suction cup, plastic prying tools, isopropyl alcohol, hot air station, microscope, soldering tweezers, low-temp solder and flux for IC transfer.
- Disconnect first: Disconnect the battery before touching the screen connectors. Standard iPhone repair safety.
- Earpiece transfer: Move the earpiece speaker, mesh and metal bracket across from the broken panel. The proximity sensor flex is already pre-installed on the new screen.
- IC chip transfer: Use the hot air station to lift the touch IC and backlight IC from the COF flex of the original screen. Position carefully on the reserved IC pads of the BQ7 panel.
- Test before sealing: Plug the screen into the logic board and power on before applying adhesive. Check display, touch zones, backlight evenness and True Tone toggle.
- Adhesive: Always replace the front-frame adhesive gasket on reassembly to maintain the original water resistance rating.
- Power-on test: Bench test before final reassembly. Check display, touch, Face ID, True Tone, proximity sensor and ambient light sensor.
- Pro install option: Walk in to our Forest Lake counter for a same-week appointment if microsoldering is outside your skill range.
