The 5mm width is suitable for most phone and tablet screen bezels. It works for iPhone digitizer reattachment, iPad screen bonding, Android phone bezel sealing, and laptop display frame reattachment. The narrow width fits most modern slim-bezel devices without overlapping the display.
Can I use this for scrapbooking and card making?+
Yes. The clear bond is invisible on paper and card. It does not buckle thin card stock the way wet glues can. The 5mm width is ideal for layering card panels, attaching embellishments, and die-cut assembly. The 55m roll offers excellent value for regular craft use.
Is this tape suitable for automotive use?+
Yes. The chemical and moisture resistance makes it suitable for interior trim attachment, emblem backing, door edge guards, and molding strips. Apply to a clean, dry, grease-free surface for best results. High temperature under bonnet applications may need a foam-core 3M tape instead.
Will this hold LED strips to a surface?+
Yes. Run 5mm tape along each side edge of the LED strip for a strong, invisible hold on timber, glass, aluminium, and painted surfaces. The 3M adhesive holds the weight of standard LED strips on vertical and overhead surfaces. Surface must be clean and dry before application.
How do I prepare the surface before applying?+
Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and allow it to dry fully. Remove all grease, oil, dust, and old adhesive residue. Press the tape firmly after application. Hold for 30 seconds. Full bond strength is reached within 24 hours of application.
Is the bond permanent or can it be removed?+
This is a permanent adhesive. It is designed for long-term bonds that do not fail. Removal is possible but may leave residue or damage paint and plastic surfaces. For temporary mounting applications, choose a repositionable tape instead. This product is not suitable where repeated removal is needed.
Can this tape be used outdoors or in wet areas?+
Yes. The acrylic adhesive resists moisture and does not degrade with water exposure. It is suitable for outdoor signage, boat trim, and bathroom fittings where water contact is occasional. For full submersion or constant water contact, a marine-specific product may be more appropriate.
How many metres do I get on the roll?+
Each roll is 55 metres in length. A phone screen repair uses roughly 30–40cm of tape per device. At that rate, one 55m roll covers over 130 phone repairs. For craft use, a 55m roll is enough for hundreds of card projects. It is a professional workshop quantity at a great price per metre.
What is the difference between transfer tape and regular double sided tape?+
Regular double sided tape has a foam or film carrier between the two adhesive layers. Transfer tape is adhesive only — no carrier. It is ultra-thin and nearly invisible once applied.
